Colleen started this day out by taking her girls to the home that her and Eric would be living in to get ready. All the details shots were taken in an unfinished room upstairs that had been painted white. I love when couples do this because then… all of your morning of photos are taken in the home you now live in. Be sure to check out all the details of this wedding closely as most of the items were handmade and diy’ed by family and friends- starting with the brides hair and makeup by friends she made in YWAM.

Every bride would be lucky to have a mom so talented as this brides. She painted the watercolor on the invitations, made the girls dresses, and helped with most of the decorating. Eric and Colleen’s wedding was unique, original, so true to their families and friends, and most of all filled with so much love and fun.

After the bride was dressed and a first look with her dad we met up with the groom for a first look, too. Then we did all of the formal portraits- the ceremony and reception and then took some more formals during dinner at the reception. I love this idea. Just getting in some more relaxed shots after you are married and all your guests are being happily fed and watered.

I am so in love with this backdrop by Sharon Hess. The florals are perfect and elegant and show up beautifully with the plain background. If ever you are not sure what to do with a space… have your florist decorate it!

Check out the reception details for more delicious items! The bride’s sister loves to bake so the cake was made by her. Ice cream from Fox Meadow’s was served along with rustic tarts and macs made by family members again. I know how hard these families worked to make this a wonderful day and that’s exactly what it turned out to be!

“To be fully seen by somebody, then, and be loved anyhow – this is a human offering that can border on miraculous.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert

Eric and Colleen: Your day was just right. Everything. And only made more perfect by the joy and love that you shared with each other and everyone around you. Thank you for having us…we had such a great time at your wedding. I hope you can treasure these images for years to come!

Much love.
